Habitat for Humanity
In December 1990, a small group of community members met in a Sunday school classroom and began to organize what would eventually become Habitat for Humanity of Baldwin County. With the common goal created by Habitat founder Millard Fuller to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness, the volunteers embarked on their first effort, renovating a house in Stapleton. On July 1, 1992, Habitat for Humanity of Baldwin County was given affiliate status by Habitat for Humanity International.
Habitat for Humanity of Baldwin County continues to grow, building environmentally friendly homes in partnership with families in Baldwin County. To date Habitat has built 100 homes and served many more families in our communities. Through God’s vision, Habitat brings together volunteers, donors and communities to ensure that everyone has a decent place to live.
